Hayter has been designing and producing* premium quality lawn mowers at its headquarters in Hertfordshire since 1946 – and this year, we proudly celebrate 80 years of British engineering and innovation. The story of the Hayter Harrier is strongly linked to the history of its parent company, Hayter. The company’s journey began in 1946, thanks to the vision of a pioneering engineer named Douglas Hayter. Returning home after the war, Douglas was inspired by an old, horse-drawn rotary mower he saw in a museum.
