Is beer still made with hops?
There are many different varieties of hops used in brewing today. Made from the finest quality hops, Kingfisher offers a flavour-profile that will refresh and delight discerning beer drinkers.
What is the healthiest type of beer?
The healthiest are stouts and porters, and higher hoppy beers, such as DIPAs and Imperial IPAs, Trappist beers, and spontaneous fermented beers, such as Lambics and Gose. Trappist-style beer is probably the most famous of the Belgian beers. Darker beers, such as stouts and porters, and extra hoppy beers, such as DIPAs and Imperial IPAs are the healthiest, along with Trappist beers and spontaneous fermented beers, such as Lambics and Gose.
Are hops in beer healthy?
Hops (Humulus lupulus, a member of the hemp family) derives most of its beneficial reputation from the thousands of healthful antioxidants naturally found in the cone of the female plant, the part used in beer. Antioxidants regulate inflammation and protect cells from damage and comprise some 14 percent of the plant. Lab studies suggest that hops extracts may have antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antidiabetic, and anticancer effects. Studies in humans are quite limited, however. Preliminary data suggest it may help relieve pain, insomnia, or menopausal symptoms, but some of these studies use hops in combination with other herbs.
