How long do carnivorous plant seeds last?
Ideally, you want seeds that are no more than 6 months old. If they are more than 6 months old, make sure the seeds were stored in refrigerators. Under refrigeration, seeds can last for years. When stored in a cool, dry, and dark place, seeds for many garden vegetables will be viable for around 3 years. Some, like onions and parsnips, are viable for only a year or two. Others, like squashes and tomatoes, last longer, for 5+ years.Generally, most vegetable seeds for example, will be viable for between 2 and 8 years. While old seeds might be fine, and they might grow into relatively healthy plants, they might not be as vigorous as plants grown from fresh seeds.
