Where are Flymo strimmers manufactured?
Flymo, for short – a brilliant idea in 1964, and a brilliant idea today! It wasn’t long before the idea ‘took off’ and the company grew from strength to strength during the 1970’s, building lawn mowers in its UK factory. Today, we still manufacture some of our robotic lawn mowers here in the UK. The only thing they don’t make are petrol mowers but with cordless, electric, hover mowers, robotic mowers and a range of other garden tools, this really is a brand worth considering. What’s more, Flymo has a reputation for being simple and easy to use but still delivering a high quality cut for your lawn.Designed for small to medium gardens, the flymo easiglide 300 is a 30cm electric hover collect lawnmower with a powerful 1700w motor. Highly manoeuvrable as it floats on a cushion of air whilst cutting the grass.
Is a Flymo any good?
Considering how lightweight it is, the Flymo EasiStore is pretty tough, chomping up grass on uneven ground without an issue. It made short work of the large lawn despite the narrow cutting width, and it was easy to switch the cutting height. It even cut up close to the curvy lawn edges. A self-propelled mulching mower is a cheaper alternative for large lawns, with the added bonus of keeping you fit. Strimmers, hand scythes or power scythes are better than conventional mowers for cutting grass that is allowed to grow very long between cuts.A lawn mower will be unable to cut the grass that goes over the edge of the lawn, and attempting to do so will mean risking scalping your lawn. One exception to this is the Flymo EasiGlide 360 with its unique hover design which enables it to mow over edges.Lawn mowers are great if you have large lawn areas in your garden. They have blades underneath the mower’s main body that rotate to slice and cut off the grass as you move along. They’re durable and efficient at maintaining a consistent lawn length.A line trimmer (or strimmer) is able to tackle longer grass and taller weeds, but not if the plants are tough or woody. You can use them to tackle areas your lawn mower might not be able to go, especially if it’s a cordless line trimmer – narrow verges, around obstacles like fence poles, trees and plants.
Why would a Flymo stop working?
This can be as simple as the lawn mower having run out of fuel or battery, or with electric mowers, the cable coming out of the socket. Also check cables, fuses and breakers for electric mowers. Trimming too much grass in one go can cause the lawn mower to get bogged down which will make it stop. If your lawn mower runs for a few seconds and then dies, it could be due to old or contaminated fuel, a clogged fuel filter, a dirty air filter, a malfunctioning carburetor, or a faulty spark plug. This can be as simple as the lawn mower having run out of fuel or battery, or with electric mowers, the cable coming out of the socket.
