What is an Esperanza plant?
Esperanza or Yellow bells is an irregularly shaped, deciduous shrub, normally 3-6 ft. US but more southerly varieties can reach 9 ft. It has several stems and slender, erect branches. Esperanza features showy clusters of lightly-scented yellow trumpet-shaped flowers with red stripes along the branches from early spring to late fall. It has dark green foliage. The serrated pointy leaves remain dark green throughout the winter.Esperanza blooms on new wood and needs little or no pruning. Lightly shape after peak bloom, from fall to late winter.
Is Tecoma the same as Esperanza?

How to make Esperanza bushy?
Esperanza grows into a tall bush. As the plant grows, prune the base of the bush into two or three main stems and keep shoots trimmed from lower 36” of plant. Many upper branches will grow from this solid base, creating a neat, upright appearance. Esperanza is easy to propagate by seeds or cuttings.
