Do water meters for plants really work?
Just so you know a moisture meter does not measure the amount of water in a plant. It measures the amount of soluble salts released in the soil when wet. It is a tool. It’s never 100% accurate. Also it is never good to let a plant dry out completely. The roots dry up and will not be able to drink well if at all. Feel the Soil: The simplest way to gauge your plant’s watering needs is by feeling the soil. Turns out that old trick of sticking your finger into the soil up to the knuckle has merit! If it’s soggy or has standing water, you’re overwatering. If it’s dry an inch below the surface, it’s time to water.
