Can you grow Pelargoniums from seed?

Sow in late winter and grow on in a protected environment such as a heated greenhouse. If you are looking to grow pelargonium in your garden from seed, zonal bedding type pelargoniums and species like pelargonium odoratissimum can relatively easily be grown or propagated in this way.The usual way of propagating Pelargoniums is to take softwood tip cuttings, fairly short, using the flexible newest bit of the shoot. To do this some of the lower leaves are stripped away. But these leaves will also make further cuttings.
