How do you care for Cryptanthus acaulis?
Cryptanthus houseplants prefer higher humidity, ideally around 50% or higher. This can be a challenge in Colorado’s dry climate, but it’s easily remedied with a pebble tray, frequent misting, or placing your plant near a humidifier. These tropical plants also prefer warm temperatures (60–80°F). Indirect light throughout the day is the best option. When grown indoors, place it in any window, except a large southern-facing window where it may get too much direct bright sunlight. Cryptanthus needs lots of sunlight, but not direct sunlight. The bright UV rays can scorch the leaves and kill it.
